Chef Roy Yamaguchi Brings Fusion to FestForwardRoy Yamaguchi is a chef, TV personality, festival chairman, author and founder of a collection of restaurants including 30 Roy’s Restaurants in the United States, Okinawa and Guam. Yamaguchi, founded and chairs, along with Chef Alan Wong, the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, which has become Hawaii’s premiere food and wine destination event and annually makes every top ten food and wine festival list.  He is revered for his eclectic “fusion" blend of California-French-Japanese cooking traditions. He has earned numerous honors including  the James Beard "Best Pacific Northwest Chef” Award, California "Chef of the Year" (California Restaurant Writers Association) Gault-Millau Top 40 (Forbes FYI), and Top 50 Cuisines in America (Conde Nast Traveler).  He serves as a trustee of the Culinary Institute of America, and spearheads a number of charitable endeavors.His PBS series, "Hawaii Cooks" with Roy Yamaguchi, was broadcast for six seasons in over 60 countries. He has also appeared in The Food Network’s "My Country, My Kitchen" and competed as one of twelve of the nation’s most notable chefs on Bravo Channel’s "Top Chef Masters".
